Academic Programs
The university's curriculum has increasingly been infused with a global dimension. Faculty across disciplines integrate global perspectives into their instruction and class discussion. There are also full degree programs on both the graduate and undergraduate levels focusing on global themes. For example, we offer an M.B.A. in Global Management, and our B.A. in International Studies is one of the few programs of its kind in the country. Also, our core curriculum is nationally recognized and distinguished for incorporating global perspectives through such courses as The Global Challenge. The Global Challenge is an online freshman course, which demonstrates the global dimensions of several crucial contemporary issues including the problems of global conflict, the global environment, and health and population concerns. It also emphasizes the necessity of an interdisciplinary approach to understanding these issues. In 2004, FDU was awarded the ITC Award for Outstanding Online Course for The Global Challenge by the Instructional Technology Council. Be our guest in The Global Challenge course by following these simple steps:
In addition to the globally minded courses and curriculum, FDU has a library system which offers innumerable opportunities to access a world of knowledge. The FDU community currently has online access to over 10,600 scholarly and research journals, as well as dozens of reference materials available on xrefer. These materials are selected with our globalized curriculum in mind and are as available from the UK, India or Israel, as they are from our Metroplolitan and College at Florham campuses in New Jersey. Visit the Library to access these global information resources. |
